Teresa Completes Skydive in Aid of Children’s Charity
Sainsbury’s employee Teresa Phizacklea admitted to being a little bit scared when she launched herself out of a plane at 10,000ft in aid of a children's charity (Rainbows Children’s Hospice).
But the 53-year-old daredevil, who jumped at Langar Airfield, enjoyed her tandem experience despite the temperature up high being minus 28 degrees Celsius.
She said: “This was something I was really determined to do. I’m glad I’ve achieved it and am very pleased to have raised around £800, which has surpassed my original target of £500.”
On the morning of her jump, Teresa was supported by a work colleague, two friends and a regular customer to the Nottingham Road supermarket where she works. She was inspired to take on the challenge to support her store’s yearly fundraising efforts.
“I’d like to thank everyone who has donated in the shop and online” she said.
“I didn’t suffer any injuries apart from a small infection but it was worth it. I’d definitely do it again but in the summer as it was a little bit chilly.”
